I agree with Him - wouldn't want a world dominated by Americans - surely the most narcissistic nation on the planet.

I would agree on development of medical science - in America their ethics are pretty shoddy, patients are on a par with lab-rats when it comes to experimental techniques. They aren't interested in the person is more having the opportunity to try something new on a live human. If you die so be it.

The Americans meddle everywhere especially where they see an economic benefit - that is their primary driver - they don't do anything unless the major benefactor is them.

As a society their political system is completely flawed - elections are decided by special-interest groups e.g. gun lobby not by policy - crazy carry on.

America is relatively young country that hasn't evolved sufficiently to have completed even level 2 of Maslow's hierarchy of needs.

Your job is to say to yourself on a job interview does the hiring manager likes me or not. If you aren't a particular manager's cup of tea, you haven't failed -- you've dodged a bullet.

Anyone watch “who is America?” Shows how messed up that country is when congressmen actually agree that arming 3 and 4 year olds is a good idea

Canoeman wrote:You've gotta be kidding about the EU right...WOW...way off base on that one...a broken dream mired in red tape trying desperately not to devolve into another ethnic cleaning from time immortal....you've got to step back and see that Gordian Knot for what it is...the vision was commendable, the reality a self made disaster. That is the stark reality of the situation...your nation is even voting to leave!...if it is so great why would anyone want to leave??????

Lets be clear, the policy of the USA during the Second World War was to defeat the Axis powers: not Great Britain! This is a bizarre statement. Since that time the USA has led the free world and sometimes using force is necessary, as I posted earlier, war and violence are part of the general human psyche, irrelevant of country and/or culture.

I think that the people who have been saved by US healthcare might have a different opinion than yours. Either way it is up to a country to decide its health care policy....there are problems in all large health care paradigms....I believe your nation has some of the worst problems. Your model is certainly not to be emulated....a disaster according to many experts in the field...crumbling?

Your foreign aid figures are incorrect, and according to the UN, the USA overall is the largest contributor to that organization financially (by FAR!). You yourself admit in your post that the USA is the main driver of the UN.

Great Britain did FAR more meddling than the US when it was running the show....and for a much longer time frame too. The cries of what could have been for Africa still should haunt British halls of power.

Nobody should want a leaderless world...it will quickly decay into conflict, starvation and the four Horsemen will rule.

These are dark and dangerous times indeed.....Canada being one of the few beacons of light in an otherwise darkening landscape.

I would like to hear the opinions of those Americans who were not saved by the US healthcare system.

Incorrect.

Bosnia was a 'NATO' led mission not an 'EU' led military mission.....due to racial past histories both of the North American partners in NATO (Canada/USA) were given leading roles to avoid future potential difficulties. We did a great job without the Europeans mucking everything up and it turned out pretty good!

They would sound about the same as the British who have not been saved by the modern social welfare Nanny state....same drole but different speaker....same tune but they change a few of the words is all.

The mathematical constant between the two is a never ending high pitched whine.

This is how the whine usually begins as it slowly rises in crescendo....next will be something about past injustices and then some minor thing that makes one feel very, very hard done by. No mention of personal responsibility since that simply wouldn't fit into the 'victim' mentality.

I work with a couple of Gulf war veterans (1991) both from different units. And both have saidthe only reason the yanks and Canadian counterparts are usually given leading roles is because nobody from any allied country wants to be in front of them for fear of "friendly fire".
