Anyone else seen that Neil Hudgell has hinted that Super League should collectively own London Broncos to give it and the game a higher profile in London Should go down well in places like Cumbria!

How can any sport be successful without the capital of the country being involved never mind where the financial centre of the northern hemisphere is located and huge companies based (sponsors for the game never mind the team). Not forgetting the media
Will Lenighan support it? The new CEO of the RFL wont thats for sure he's a parochial northerner, a chip of fatty woods block

Brilliant idea....... 14 Team SL with 13 equal shares owned in the Broncos by each of the other clubs and the other 7.7% of the club owned by the fans.......no more rich mans plaything...targets to be hit, consequences when they aren't and PROPER ADMINISTRATORS in place....

Sod them
JESUS WEPT HOW MANY TIMES????? £20 a ticket and £15 on beer and merchandise.....so an away fan is worth £35. At best, 1,000 is the average away support split across 11 rounds and I am being really generous here, so Toronto, replacing say Wakefield will cost a SL club £35,000. The minimum turnover of a SL club is £4,000,000 so Toronto instead of Widnes is worth less than 1% of a SL clubs turnover.
There are many valid reasons for and against expansion into America, but "AWAY FANS" isn't one of them.

For Rugby League to ever expand it is what they are going to have to do. Rather than small town teams go regional. It will never happen or not for a long long time far too radical
Wasn't mergers part of the original super league blueprint? I was living in West Yorks at the time and recall the fury at the proposal to merge Featherstone, Wakefield and Castleford to form "Calder". The Holy Grail was always strong London and Welsh teams but it really hasn't happened.
