But surely with Roberts leaving at the end of the season they are in the same boat squad wise, can`t see them changing there mind on the 2 year deal they gave him 2 or 3 weeks ago.

I had looked at the squad to be fair but hadn't seen he'd just signed a deal, fair enough.

Great player but I don't think he came over for experience, more a step up in his career. A young prospect moving from the NRL to SL wouldn't be a step up IMO
He was I believe 19 when he came to us, wasn't that to get experience? He was hardly an household name when he came to us.

I thought the point Chissit was making is him getting "a couple of years for the the experience" to then go back and fulfill his potential in the NRL - Paul built and played his whole career over here in the UK.
Although there are a few examples, there are not a lot of young Aussies that come over for a step up or the experience and return a success, most either stay and make a career for themselves over here or go back and play outside of first grade.

I will ask again, why would a lad who's got his foot in the door on his NRL career sign for a mid table SL side? We all know it won't be money related.
Played U20s Origin this morning, added to the not playing 2017 through injury bit, cannot be him. Presume the rumour, if true, is going to be a forward not a back or half.

Maybe I read it wrong but in my eyes he certainly came over for experience and used that experience to further his career, albeit he did that over here but would certainly have been an incredible player back in Australia if he'd felt the need.
