People of Wakefield still didn't come to watch, promotion to SL year we won approx 20 games out of 24, only 1200 came to watch. Wakefield people will watch game on TV in pub for free. When Glover was running the job he was giving away free tickets all over the place, they were been copied plus anyone could walk in for free anyway, still Wakey folk didnt come. The only positive has been the tremendous growth in Corporate, massive pat on the back to MC and his team, especially Verity in the growth they have achieved in this area. Corporate guests spend money at the game. We need to move out of BV, preferably out of Wakey, to an area that has a chance of growth in support, suggest a Rugby Union area where potential supporters are not looking to cut a penny in half, somewhere where the local council would appreciate MC and the franchise. I think we should grasp the opportunity and see if Wasps RU are still interested in a RL franchise to play out of Coventry.
There's no doubt Belly, that the Wakefield public are pathetic when it comes to supporting ANY professional sport. The stadium issues, with years of lies and false dawns doesn't help BUT I agree with others if we had a successful winning team, crowds would improve. Your obsession with moving out of Wakefield puzzles me. We are WAKEFIELD Trinity we play in Wakefield because of that. If you think the crowds are bad now, move the club out of the city and see what you get. It would be a massive, irreversible mistake.

I do believe that improved results and a successful team does pull crowds in, but it needs to be over a period of time. The challenge cup semi was an indication if how much of a buzz it gives. How many coaches did we take to the LSV, in comparison to other away games.
They're not going to just shoot up. It would be interesting to see what the averages are over the season, from 2015 onwards.
Also, a new stadium, or improved stadium would help, as just by human nature, especially with the saga being going on so long, people would want to be most, just to see the improvements that have been made. This would also apply with away fans visiting.

Moving Wakefield Trinity out of Wakefield would kill the club. I can't believe anyone would even consider it as a serious option. The club can't garner support from those attached to it in the local area. Dragging it away from the few less apathetic people that do will just mean even less attending games.

Marketing.
Do we know if there are there any pockets of the city where our fan base is lower without valid reason?
If so, mailshot in those areas, offering discounted prices, ticket deals etc.
Also, as in, like how a car depreciates in value in time, so does a season ticket. How about, especially in the opening weeks of a season a depreciated season ticket, where the price is cut slightly, week by week

Good points indeed BLM and Chissitt.
There is a saying though if you don't try, you'll never know.
We do have a large contingency now in the city of foreign people coming in, and it's the way of the world, especially with central and eastern Europeans. However, there has been a steady increase lately in players playing in our leagues, with foreign sounding surnames, so maybe there is a growing interest in the sport with some of these people. The young, Leeds forward is just one that springs to mind
