There was also a tunnel under the stand to allow spectators to move from one end of the ground to the other. it used to take about 10 minutes to push through due to the crowds.
at the time the west stand was demolished I worked for Wakefield MDC and I obtained a section of the timber valance from the front of the roof as a souvenir. I took it back to the office and got a rollicking off my boss because the whole stand was riddled with woodworm.
