J Child = 7 C Kendal = 3 Hicks = 2 Hewer – 2 Moore – 1
So we have had the pleasure of Mr Child nearly as many times as we haven't
Maybe, we are getting used to each other, which can only be a good thing. The players will know where the boundaries are and the ref will know the players a little better and maybe he can tell when he's being conned (or not)

I didn't agree with the Fifita "knock on" but I'm sure the Wigan fans didn't agree with the grounding on TJ's try and it all boils down to "the refs call is final".
Too many fans kick off when the ref consistently uses the screen for things where he could make the call on field, last night I think Childs got the divide completely right and used the screen when necessary.
That Sol was winding me up last night, he's a proper sly basket that one. They might not like it, but big Dave is right, for every "event" he gets pulled for, he gets away with half a dozen. Is this not the difference between ok refs and gold plated refs, they catch more of the BS.

and in this gallery of photographs is a not so sly one, that he more often than not gets away with.

SoL hasn't tackled anyone below the neck in years - I sometimes wonder if ageing players are given some kind of dispensation for being unable to bend their back, because Jamie Peacock also got away with it for several seasons too, prior to his retirement.
SoL is a tremendous player - everything that they do still goes through him - but he's a grub; high tackles and a sneaky tug on the ball to old-man the ref are his stock in trade.
