Do you think he will be applying for the job?
Would be a dream return for Edwards ,bringing back one of their all time greats .But these things can turn into a poisoned challis just look what happened to saints favourite son they didn’t mess about even with a bronze statue of him out front . Somehow don’t think Chester will make the shortlist ,but stranger things have happened.

There seems to have been some bad blood between Wigan and Cas lately so I would be surprised if Powell would even be approached, and I certainly wouldn't expect him to accept. Or maybe it is just specifically Wane and Powell that don't get on?
As for Chester out. Some people have short memories. He has done great since he has been there. You are currently in a poor run of form, and I would have been disappointed about how he approached the cup if I was a Trin supporter. I also realise that after last season you wanted to push on and at least do the same again, but if you are really honest, 7th is about right for the squad you have. Be careful what you wish for.

You wont find many on here that want Chester out at this moment in time, just the usual suspects.

To be honest mate I've always had you down as a very (in the know poster) not any more.

Normally I would not repeat, but on the off chance it could cause a little bit of insecurity over yon hill, I thought I should post.
So you never know !!!
McDermott has had a lot of stick over the last few years and it seems like he's always been on the way out but I really can't see it, he cannot be blamed if they don't do anything spectacular this season. No coach could deal with the injury crisis they've been/potentially going to be hit with.
Wane leaving Wigan shakes things up a little particularly if they go for another SL coach. Players then also inevitably switch or become unsettled. We don't see a great deal of player movement at the high end within the UK, particularly with no transfer fees usually on offer so anything that shakes up the mix is good by me.
Interesting times - I wonder if this is a planned move, or if he's going because of a falling out? It puts a new light on Michael McThingummy and now Tomkins going to Les Cats - makes it seem planned ahead, as his players do seem to like playing for him - I couldn't see Tomkins going there to play under McBanana on a long term basis.
If they do go for another SL coach, there can only be 1 or 2 names on that shortlist - Uncle Bri would be a good shout, with Powell replacing him at Leeds? No disrespect to Chester - but he isn't a Wigan coach in a month of Sundays.
Otherwise, they'll go Edwards, which is a risk but a crowd-pleaser, or Aussie - and that could be anyone; there are even some odds on JD!

One thing I've been meaning to add on here is that the number of lost games is misleading.
In the not too distant dark days when we were getting tonked 80-0 it's easy to put fixes in place. The 'kids can't do any worse' and 'get someone in on loan' are viable alternatives to see what happens. When you are losing by 2-4 points consistently, I don't think it is a matter of changing the team around. For me it is fine tweeking the team you have. Of course you may drop someone who has a stinker but generally our best team is our best team every week. Where Chester I assume is concentrating, is how to get the best out of that team. The problem being, while he is tweeking, other problems seem to have surfaced, like Grix injury and Finn's injury/age.

I agree, all we need is a leader with a brain and the rest will fall into place. As a team we are really thick at times. Teams that do the smart thing to get the little things right always win the close games.
