I defy any coach, especially one coaching a team coming up from the Championship(which is what we are currently, unfortunately) to suddenly become a top 8 side. Don,t forget, that when we played Wigan, Leeds, Saints at home the team were applauded off the pitch for having a really good go and the end results flattered the winners. Yes it,s all about winning, but we are losing first choice players every match. I hate losing, but we need some luck. Will we win any of the next 4, I don,t think so. Will I support my team, yes I will. The backs are good, The pack very average, with one or two ok. Are we good enough to stay up? with key players back, an aggressive attitude, and an ounce of good luck(for a change) or even two of those three, yes we are good enough and should be ok. Time to back the team, and the coach.
So what was the difference with Chester when you had all of those injuries and a bad run of results?

Put simply he is/was responsible for our small mobile pack strategy, combined with a ridiculous pre season these were big factors among with a few others. He seems to have learnt lessons from his/our failure and built probably the biggest pack in the league.Decent back 5 and imo only a really good half back away from taking next step forward on league ladder.Looking back he was preferable to Webster but at the time it seemed the right call? Sheens is playing with a squad that needs freshening up(Not withstanding injuries)Reading tonight's HDM it seems he's finally realised this?

Sheens saw last year vs Wire that our pack was too small, it’s what every fan has seen for at least the last 3 years. He mentioned the need to recruit size post that match, so the requirement is not new to him.
The question should be, after the many well publicised recruitment failures “why can’t rovers sign decent players”? (cue the poor attempts at sarcasm from the dark spiders).
It’s clear funds are available but players don’t want to join the club so what is it that is stopping them?
As I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I shall fear no evil.

Rovers are supposed to have a massive wedge left on the cap. You would think players agents are knocking down Hudgell's door to get them a contract. I don't buy the there's no one available line. With Sheens knowledge and contacts they must be plenty of fringe NRL players available who would excel in SL. Vaivai for example. Maybe funds aren't available after all.

Better offers from their NRL clubs. Wire offering a better deal. Rovers were used in negotiations for better deals. Hopefully that won't happen this off season.
Stay up this year and we will be ok. The young backs look the part, Oakes, Wallis, Hefernan, Dagger. Some good young forwards too. Mulhern, Johnson, Cator, Lawler. All these a couple more years under Sheens will tear this league up. Need some half backs and some horrible back rowers. Despite results plenty to be optimistic about. Radford needed 2 seasons plus and constant calls for his sacking to sort the sharks mess out. Get Sheens for 3 more years and we'll be very competitive.

I reckon you will be ok come the end of the season. He is doing a decent job of a rough hand when you think of the injuries he has had to deal with , saying that all teams are getting a share of injuries . Watkins at Leeds for example , both hull clubs , Widnes off the top of my head , I just think the difference is the quality of the replacements . Your just not going to have the quality that other teams have given you’ve just been promoted. It will come ,the next few years in the super League and you will start to see that depth again
