Lest we forget, this Friday marks 50 years since the so-called "Watersplash Final". League Express refers to the occasion with a short article from Sir Neil Fox who briefly states how it affected their kid thereafter. What memories do others on this Forum have of the day.

I remember going down as a 14 year old. Walking up the steps to the stadium with the water running down like a waterfall. Before the match and at half time they were trying to soak the water up off the pitch with squeegy mops. There was the infamous obstruction try that wasn't and of course the heart breaking Don Fox missed goal at the end.
There was a short piece on the bbc's inside out not long ago about the watersplash, can't find it on iplayer but I did see this which is due to be broadcast on Saturday. It must be lead in to the Cas Sts game

Didn't make it in person on this occasion as we got married two months later and needed every penny we had. Watched it on the telly though and do have the dvd, but a bit too heartbreaking to watch.
