I would want Carney(if he would stay) same with Quinlan, and although it,s very early for him in a Rovers shirt Via Via. You don,t always need lots of matches to see true potential/quality, and other teams soon cotton on and could poach any player without a decent contract.
No team will ever improve by letting good players go elsewhere, and we have done this too often. We must retain quality and build upon it.
Like the fact that Rovers have offered contracts and been accepted to the three so far, but need to box clever. We have the support to be top four and hopefully the powers that be are on the ball.
Still think we need some heavy artillery in the forwards.
whilst I agree Carney and Quinlin have been excellent this season. Offering them contracts leaves me in a bit of a quandary. Whilst they deserve it, they blocking some of the younger players who to get better need game time in my opinion. But it's a win win situation for Rovers, which is a nice position to be in. I'd personally like to see oakes moved to Centre and give Carney a couple of years he's been brilliant for York there apparently. And if you think about it that's an exciting back line - Quinlin /Dagger, Shaw, VaiVai, Oakes, Carney.
VaiVai is apparently on a 6 month contract, with a year option. I'm with you, get him tied down to a decent contract as he proving his worth.
