However, for the first time at a non cup final/ major event, I think all Trinity fans were frisked/searched before entering the ground and I actually asked why this was. The steward said there were reports of Trinity "fans" setting flares off in the town centre. So, I believe they were expecting something to happen at the game.
It would be almost impossible to find "flares" of the type thrown as they are pretty small and would be easy to keep out of sight.
Spot on mate, in all the years I've been watching rugby league I've never once been searched. Last year at Old Trafford when the queues were a mile long and they just did a quick frisk on the odd person.
