No one said he was trying to buy it outright??? It was worth a punt to get a huge club at a fraction of what it should be (had they remained in the Championship). Buy it low get promotion straight back to the Championship (which it should do) and then sell on again for a tidy profit. Could also have been a cheeky message to the Allams too regarding buying Hull City if they are so keen as they keep saying to sell (yet nothing ever materialises).
It doesn't matter how many clubs he's tried to buy ATEOTD the only one that's important is the one he owns which is the reason Hull FC are being so successful both on and off field. That is the bitterest of pills for the rovers fans to swallow while we have moved forward significantly they really are in the shadows of Hull FC and wallowing at the lower end of SL.
