Not so. Someone who commits murder probably does it in their own time. Employees can be dismissed for gross misconduct away from the workplace and indeed many are. It's very so for dismissing someone just because they've made a tool of themselves. Bringing murder into the argument ffs Kelly acted a tool it's not a hanging offence. I'd like to see you successfully dismiss someone for being drunk in their own time and not at the work place and being obnoxious as you will find that is almost impossible no matter what the company policy is on behaviour.

I guess it depends on the context. Many professions have a nationally agreed professional framework that has to be followed at work and out of work, such as doctors, nurses, police officers, teachers......). Anyone in these professions would certainly be disciplined for the type of behaviour Kelly exhibited and likely be dismissed.

If you really want to see foul and abusive language, take a look at some of the twitter accounts discussing Kelly, probably when they were stone cold sober (or not).

bullshine, no employer can summarily dismiss someone for out of work behaviour, it's called EMPLOYMENT LAW.
