Big fish in a small pond is a phrase a couple of people said to me today about Abdul. He has got talent, but no one can say he's impressed enough to nail down a position in the first 17.
We have 3 better half backs and 3 better back rowers so he was always going to be a bit part player at Hull but will be first 17 at rovers so good luck to him. He's at the stage where he needs to be playing every week but not sure he's SL standard just yet

I thought mini had a really strong running game last night but remains to be seen if he can stay fit. Certainly looks in better shape than many players younger than him
Mini is better when he his rotated.I like the idea of using Griffin,Mini, and Manu as the rotated second row

I think he is SL standard and I hope he signs for us he does come across as a bit of a baby if things aren't going his way I think ,he went well for us as he was a main player last year and I think he enjoyed been that and I he went back expecting to be in your 17 when in fact he doesn't seem any further on and now you've signed Westerman he will spit his dummy out
einstien said insanity is when a person does the same thing over and over again but expects a different result

Pretty happy with the Westerman deal. On his day he is a very good player.
The pressure is on him to perform and earn a longer term contract. If he disappoints then we haven't lost out in any way.
With Mini and possibly Manu leaving at the end of the year we need to recuit in the back row and quality players are hardly falling from the tree.
As has been said we should trust Pearson, Ellis and Radford's judgement. Some fans were concerned about Kelly joining the club and he has settled in perfectly.

Little risk on our part. If he knuckles down and plays well then we have a decent replacement in the back row. If he doesn't then we simply don't extend his contract. Shrewd move imo.

He's definitely not consistently SL standard but at 22 you wouldn't expect him to be and it won't come until he plays week in week out in an environment where maybe there is less pressure to perform to be in the 17 each week. At Hull one bad game would see him out whereas at rovers there is probably less due to the lower quality of the squad
