Yes as if ticket sales wont be hard enough. Plus not a good advert to have us on tele with 3k of fans at best.

There will be more than 3,000 fans. Bradford have sold 2,500.

That's an estimate. I will be very surprised if we bring that many.

And it's only the 'live' element of the game that Warrington have objected to. The full game will still be shown on facebook, for free, at 6pm on Sunday.
For what it's worth our other two cup games were also delayed streams too, albeit only by a few hours.

Don't see why Bradford are getting their knickers in a twist, if you want to watch live sport you should pay for the privilege.

Showing a slightly delayed stream will put people off travelling, and will put Wire fans off going if it's advertised as such.

The ability is there to watch it in full, for free 24 hours later, which is better than most SL clubs have available to them.

I'm all for clubs exploiting commercial advantages from streaming services - it's clearly the future for pro sports, but it shouldn't be free in a live or slightly delayed format.

I've mentioned a couple of times Warrington should put together a paid TV service which allows fans who live out of town/overseas to subscribe to extended match highlights/interviews/features etc etc, but even that should be a paid monthly service.

Even to delay the stream til that evening would have been fine. But the club is right to protect it’s revenue. And we need the money since Mr Moran probably has to give Gary Barlow a bigger slice of the concert receipts to cover his tax recovery payments ;-). I hear he wouldn’t settle for a free season ticket in the east stand.

The problem is if you start to give things away for free, fans expect it to always be free, same with discounted season tickets (something Bradford know all about) they just don't make good business sense. So yes I agree the club was right to turn this down.

Regarding it being free, i think it's so the club can test the waters in regards to the streaming (which IMHO is how sports will be viewed in future and the next SKY deal will reflect this)i think they will definitely look at charging in the future, or they'll think it maybe worth more keeping it free and getting more in sponsorship. As Chalmers said on Sunday, we need as many eyeballs watching the sport as possible (something the sport is losing massively), and then its up to him (and the sport if we all decide to go down that route) how to turn that into hard cash.

My personal opinion again isn't that because it's streamed it will affect crowds. Those that are going to Warrington will be going anyway. Its a good way to keep people interested, or to get them back into watching the sport again. But it will be interesting to monitor our home crowds whether they go up or down in regards to streaming. Anyway at least Chalmers statement was more professional than the Workington farce.

Looking forward to seeing you on Saturday! Hopefully you decide to rest a few ;)

Be great to see the Bulls and their fans back at the HJ. The last 5 years or so have been a nightmare for you guys, the sight of past heroes auctioning off the GF rings to try an save the club was a horrible sight. As a sleeping giant of RL I look forward to seeing a well run Bradford organisation back in SL some time hopefully in the near future.
