In the opposition 20 we are just so static with very little cut and thrust to bend the defence or break the line as we are just too easy to defend against apart from a last hope kick from Sneyd or but of maverick play from Kelly. I've not seen us utilise any of the forwards to steam onto a ball near the line much at all this season for one.

We have been unable to dominate the middle so far as during the opening rounds we have lost Taylor, Paea, Manu, Green, Bowden and thats without Watts slow stuttering start before his red then move to Cas. So in fairness to the team its difficult when you lose these players and do not have them all on the field fully fit at the same time which so far we have struggled to do on a regular basis. Hopefully now they are coming back from the injuries this will not be a problem.

Agree. On the forwards point we miss the lines of Ellis and Watts. Taylor's carried the pack for the last few rounds IMO but his style is all grit and determination, which was why Watts was such a good complement to his style. I'd like to see Bowden do more of this - hopefully when Manu gets back things will improve. The point about looking static in the 20 is spot on. Need more bodies in motion to pull the defence out of line. I love Kelly but sometimes I think the team are uncertain as to when he's going to do something orthodox or try something outlandish - this brings some fabulous tries but also some inertia when he goes for something simple.

We struggle in the 20, have done for a few seasons, that's why Kelly leaving would be a real problem.

Didn't say you had blamed them :D .

Its an area we have struggled with for more than a few seasons too in fact probably since the mid 2000's. I do think an attack (rather than an offensive one  ) coach from outside the club would help us massively and do think the club realised by trying to bring Hodgson in but then nothing since.

I really enjoy long walks especially when they are taken by people I don't like!

but we have won two Challenge Cups, I just think we relied too mich on oir forwarcs in the past and we have lost quite a few of them and put the faith in younger players who, quite honestly, aren't ready.

Think we have relied on the ability of our forwards to an extent as it was a very potent threat so why wouldn't we? However the downside is that it has made us a bit one dimensional. Also I think other teams have countered the threat by slowing us down and worked out ways to stifle. We just have to evolve our attacking options and believe the addition of an attack minded coach would help. It's noticeable that since RH went to Donny we don't look as good going forward.

ER what ??? Rovers are totally poop and easily beat Widnes. Widnes have 9 regulars missing.

Surely it's how many we win by !!!!!!!

He seems to be doing well. Possibly the club see him as the long term successor to Radford. On the pitch I think we could do with an experienced tactical head at 13; Sinfield and O'Loughlin have been absolutely integral to sustained success at their respective clubs.
