Absolutely gutted with this news. Lewis is one of our brightest prospects & yet again, one of the Super League clubs come in & poach our talented youth. Don't blame Lewis for trying to better himself & I wish him good luck but I get so fed up with the club not being able to persuade the young players to stay. Still, I suppose I will have to get used to us being a feeder club for the "Big Clubs" & hope we can keep on producing quality youngsters that want to stay.
To my mind he has jumped too soon. He has yet to seal a first team place. He needed to establish himself and then move on like Louis did. Anyway I hope it works out for him because he certainly has talent, I just hope it does not go to waste.
He is still very green, on the park with us the more experienced heads on the sideline were constantly giving him encouragement, especially when he made an error or missed a tackle. Will be interesting to see if hull can bring him on. He does not have the mongrel in him like LMS but with some talent around him he could come good for them. All depends if he can get into the main squad though, would hate to see him sit on the fringes, think you could be right Bosty another season in championship might have done him more good
I would play Rob Butler over Lewis these days. He is a real talent. Danny Ward seems to think so too. Sid too puts in a shift. I think his loan spell at Oldham did him good.
He got found out in a game last year when Hendo rolled him out of the bench, realised he was way out of his depth and pulled him back off.
He will sit on the sidelines for a while until he gets to understand what the front row is all about. He's big, unfortunately he's soft and clueless tactically at this level for a prop.
