I was there at the 1999 Grand Final when Melbourne Storm beat St.George setting a world record rugby league attendance of 108,000. I was also at Odsal in 1954 for the Challenge Cup replay when the official attendance was given as 102,500 although several thousand others entered the stadium without paying, leading to claims that the real crowd exceeded 110,000.
State government, well one mental woman and the Labour party are wanting to knock down the Olympic stadium and the Footy stadium and rebuild at a cost of AU$2.6Billion (public funds) It's absolutely crazy. Bugger local projects, more cycle lanes that are desperately needed in a state that criminalises riding a bike without a bell or helmet, sod spending money on schools etc. nope we'll bulldoze 2 perfectly serviceable stadiums and new just for Elite sport only. Oh, they are going to rebuild the Parramatta stadium too apparently. Footy stadium 45,000 capacity Olympic stadium circa 75,000 capacity The costs are already re-evaluated at best part of a Billion over original stated costs! http://www.abc.net.au/news/2017-12-04/s ... it/9222688

Some good points there but a couple of minor corrections. We have a Labor opposition party here in NSW which is against the Stadia demolitions. The current coalition government with the female Premier is to the right of the Labor party.
Back on topic. Looking forward to both matches today at the ANZ. Was in Melbourne last night for the Leeds game and enjoyed it. Saw a few Hull and Wigan supporters there.
