I'm sure you're pleased with the win but any decent side would have put 30 points on rovers and 60 on catalans. 2 really poor sides IMO
Breathe a sigh of relief that your board didn't appoint macnamara when they binned the ginner one or you'd be languishing in the championship right now
Agreed mate, Hull would have beaten Catalans 80-10, you are that good. Didn't you lot lose at at home to my rubbish team Leigh last season, I'll think you find that you did. ! It was hardly a 'mistake ridden' game, why were both sides so bad ? It was just a typical Super League game, physical, but a bit boring. How different would have the mighty 'black & whites' have performed love ?
"I know you've had a bad day, but there's no need to take it out on me"
Terrible match for the neutral. Far too many words from both sides (both forces and unforced). Catalans will struggle to get in the 8 and think kr will struggle
Its good to get a win and 2 points on the board but lets not kid ourselves.... It was far from excellent. We played an extremely poor French team that look destined to be wooden spooners. We emerged from the game with only an Handful of players coming away with any credibility, notably Lunt, Salter and Atkin. I watched back when I got home and it was as bad on TV as it was in real time. The media bumped on about Dagger but IMO he is a way of been the same level as Quinlan or even Marsh at FB!!!! He failed to pouch a few kicks, was beaten in a foot race for their try and didn't look very good positionally, not slating the kid completely as he does have potential but against a decent team this year he will be out of his depth. A spell at York may do him the world of good.
Salter must play the next game even if Heff is fit, he made our right edge look defensively strong for the first time in a long time.
2 points is 2 points though so lets beat Salford now
Games are scrappy beging of the season it’s about winning ugly I thought agenst a big cats team in defence we did well and with players out and recruitment ongoing I’m sure when we get players back and bring players in we will finish 7th or 8th If not higher then build for next year we have some good younger guys at the club that’s will only get better.

28 errors would suggest it was a "mistake ridden".
This is the hull kr board, not the leigh or Hull FC one so keep on topic

Good, honest post but ultimately the only thing that matters is winning games. These are the ones you really need to win and you did.
The salford game will be interesting as they looked much better against wakey than I thought they would and fronted up really well against their big pack but seemingly struggled against wigan's more expansive game so maybe that's the way to go

Error ridden. Yes it was a bit. Sharks vs Wigan was far better wasn't it. Just the 29 errors in that classic. Anyway level on points with the sharks now. Looking forward to seeing St. George. Got my abacus ready.
although some baiting by good old JTP, there is some validity in his points. The game was not a classic and we made way too many errors, especially in the first half.
However, i couldn't care less. All we needed to do was get the monkey of our backs in terms of a win, now that pressure is off we can be a bit more expansive. Game management was excellent.
We certainly have the desire to battle out games - and that for me is an excellent starting point.
Our strength in depth is good, we had 8 missing last night but the 17 was still strong. Cats had a few out and the people coming in were not up to scratch like ours were, so that bodes well. Our skill and strike level will improve with players like quinlan, heff, scrutes, donno, lawler, vaivai coming back in.
Stand outs for me were Masoe, salter, tickle did a big stint for first game works very hard although lacks a bit of yardage going forward and i thought minns looked dangerous every time he had the ball evading the first defender. Also, Jewitt is a beast.

We controlled the second half very well. They never looked like getting in the game because we didn't let them. Dagger organised the defence well. Improved under the kick and looked a threat. Didn't over try when under pressure with the ball. Mead outruns most humans. He's very quick. It was a good debut for an 18 year old pivot. Masoe had a very good game.
