I personally think this was our best chance for 30 years to win it, that was probably one of the weakest Aussie sides I have seen.
As said above I think he got his side wrong, Bateman should have been in the backrow, Percival at centre, Williams should of have been given a run at 6,he is 10 times the player Brown is.
Mcmeeken and Taylor should have been in the 17.
IMO this side would have won the final

I don't battle with idiots, they drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

This is why he should go for me. If we're going to be successful over the next few years we need someone who is fully committed to the England job and not busy coaching an NRL team throughout the year. The England squad is going to change and evolve over the next 4 years and is a guy based over in Australia and too busy at club level the right man to see who should be the players we move ahead with.
The England coach should be based over here, watching SL players in action week in week out, in constant contact and meeting with those that are in his squad, those that could be in the future, those on the fringes or dropped out, at the mid season get togethers.

Head coach Australia Wayne Bennett Assistant coach England Denis Betts Assistant coach England Paul Anderson First team coach England Paul Wellens Team manager England Jamie Peacock
So, Betts, Anderson and Wellens... hardly proven RL Coaches!

Powell has to be the man for job We need to develop some half backs, and a decent full back although Widdop played really well. We can match the best in the forwards but Powell is the man to throw a different game against the likes of Australia and create chances to score. Yes you need defence but when you dont score you dont win.

Is it his amount of GF wins that upset you
Can understand people wanting Powell but does his showings in crunch games let him down? I'd also think it'd be very hard to get England playing like Cas given the short amount of time and games he'd have with the players.
