RLWC2017 - Australia v. Lebanon Report
The third game of the day saw the World Cups lowest ranked side Lebanon take on the top rated Australia. None of the pundits or bookies gave Brad Fittler's Lebanon any chance of an upset and expected the host nation to sweep into the semi-finals with an unbeaten record.
Sydney Football Stadium was the venue and the crowd was bolstered by a good crowd supporting Lebanon. The Cedars were looking for a repeat of their great opening game form when the beat France and Australia were looking for a professional and clinical performance.

The refereeing was absolutely shocking, the ref was from Wakefield and I think he should have stayed there,he gave about 15 penalties, most of them for sod all,it stopped the flow of play unnecessarily and all the players (from both sides) looked vexed off. Thank goodness he isn't refereeing in Australia,he wouldn't last a season over here.
You don't shake a tree and a baggy green cap falls out, this is Australia not England. The stronger the challenge the greater the victory.

Surely Lebanon can't be ranked below USA??? I can't imagine how they qualified for this tournament,it could only be because USA is a big money country because their playing standard was TERRIBLE,
