Good news that the police/fire brigade have taken action. Can’t believe for a second we’ve heard the last of this though.

In sure there'll some statement from the Allams in due course threatening to do something maybe move to Melton......... oh hang a minute that's was years ago.

I honestly expect the next thing will be to lock it for FC games unless we agree to pay to open it.

Struggle to understand what land the SMC 'own' when it is all land owned by the Council. The gate has been put there for one reason and that's to make life difficult for everyone in the City that uses that route in everyday life . The terrorism threat excuse is just trying to hide behind the fear factor and is pathetic. I'm sure a gate is really going to stop someone when the stadium can be accessed easily from the park.

I think the theory is that, having evaded detection whilst studying Jolly Rogers Cook Book, buying the materials online, building the device and attending the mosque, Jonny Terrorist will decide that, instead of getting a bus to Walton Street or Spring Bank to carry out the deadly deed, it’s all become “too difficult” because he can’t go to St Stephens on the way for Nando’s and walk down Londesborough Street, to the stadium via the walkway, so he’s going to become a volunteer at The Samaritans and breed fluffy bunnies instead. That’ll show the infidels!!

What I do find daft about this is that the gate is opened when city games are on so what allam is saying is we will close the gate to stop a terrorist attack when the stadium is empty but leave it open to make it easier for the terrorist when there is a bunch of people in there...
