Keighley have just signed Joe Lumb. I don't know too much about him. Can anyone on here let Keighley supporters know what to expect from him and what he will bring to the club.

Useful signing. Surprised he didn't get more game time for us this year but we had Moore and Hallas in front of him. The fact that Halafihi was preferred to him surprised me a little. Never let us down when he played.

Was rated by Lowes, but not by Smith & Toovey. Was unlucky with timing of his injuries which held him back a little. Personally I think there is a decent quality Championship level hooker in there somewhere. Just needs some playing time.

I think with the emergence of Reiss Butterworth and with Sam Hallas as likely first choice (assuming Moore doesn't stay), Lumb would still be on the outskirts of the 17 next season and at this stage he needs to be playing regularly. If Moore or Halafihi stays, he'd likely not get a sniff again (although I think he's better than Halafihi). Good kid, looked to have some good ability but never saw enough of him to say one way or the other for definite. Hope he goes well.
I liked Lumb. He had signed a 3 year contract with us (not sure if that was under Rohan or Jimmy) a cracking tackler. One image that i'll remember this year is the first game of the season and Mitch Clark was charging full pelt at Lumb, who clapped his hands and said "come on then" dropped straight to the legs and produced a great tackle. Will go very well for Keighley.
