I was due to go to that game with my auntie who was a barmaid in the club house and we often went to games together when I was a nipper (and got took in for nowt when I was younger.lol) but something cropped up and I missed it. Heard all about it afterwards that he'd ran round most of the Cas team scoring an amazing try. Probably on some VCR cassette languishing in a loft somewhere.

Don't forget Turgut was the England academy captain. He looks like he has huge potential IMO. I think Hadley is a good player too but I guess it's testament to our coaching and academy set up. Saying Turgut is 'nothing special' is a bit harsh pal!

Turgut is over 3 years younger than Hadley and so has much more room for improvement. Of course there is no guarantee he will improve but I don't know of any reason why he shouldn't other than misfortune like injury problems. Think back to what Hadley was like 3 years ago and then is he miles better? Radford has shown with Bowden and Green that he can make forwards better so the smart money has to be on Turgut. That's usually how player managers go as well, backing the younger player if they reckon ability is similar. That's not to say I don't like Hadley and I hope we can find a spot for both next year.

Turgut is an excellent player, certainly one for the future, that's if you don't sign some South Sea Islander that keeps him out of the team!!
ala Callum Lancaster.

SAINTS THE ORIGINAL AND PERENNIAL CHEATS

For sale full Saints kit (circa 1989). Shirts in pristine condition, but shorts badly soiled.

For 27 - 0 you get a trophy
For 75 - 0 you get sod all.

Wigan had eight in a row
Saints have five in a row

The issue with Lancaster from what I have been told was more down to application by the player himself rather than the club keeping him out the team.

Under Radford Hull FC have shown a real commitment to giving the youth a chance and Adam Pearson has stuck to his word of investing heavily in the youth set up at the club since he bought Hull FC. With the likes of Turget, Fash, Downs, Matongo all coming through and playing in the senior team along with players like Shaul, Logan, Hadley, Bowden & Green along with Abdull on loan at Rovers I think the proof is there to see.

After years of under investment by the previous owners of Hull FC is was going to take a while for the seeds planted by Pearson to bear fruit but this is now starting to show. The fact that the sport itself doesn't do a great deal to help in terms of leagues etc for the fringe players to get experience adds to the slow process, the U23's fiasco with fixtures a clear example.

I really enjoy long walks especially when they are taken by people I don't like!

Some of the comments regarding Hadley have surprised me. I think he's been really solid when called upon the past couple of seasons, and is having a very good season at Wakey. Very solid defensively, good hands, runs good lines in attack. He's got room to develop definitely, but his development is still on the upwards curve and far from finished.

Turgut is also a great prospect and done well this season. There's no reason why we can't or shouldn't keep both. Ellis, Mini & Manu won't be here forever.

I can see us loaning Turgut out next season and bringing Hadley back into the first team fold. Although a forward group of Ellis, Minichiello, Manu, Green, Bowden, Watts, Taylor, Paea, Thompson, Hadley, Washbrook, Fash and Matongo could be a headache for Radford. Either Ellis is leaving or the plan is for players to be loaned out.

I would think probably some fringe players will be loaned out to play more regular first team rugby due to the failure of the U23's competition
