Can we just give him a break ? Yes he said things that have been proven very wrong, we all know that. However, at the time he believed it and wrote his opinion on our Forum. Thats everyones right. I never agreed with it, but so be it.
Some sentences he may regret with hindsight, who knows ? His petition idea didn't work out, so democracy won. and so did all Hull FC fans because we now have success from a hierachy who have given us the the best team and Club set up ever in my opinion, This is the hierachy a minority wanted out. They were wrong, and thats now gone.
Im sure with hindsight Bumpys glad to be proven wrong because we have success with the best young coach in the Super League, and perhaps the best coach full stop. and a Chairman no-one on here would swap for anyone. Even Bumby I'm sure.
So things are good at FC, ney they are brilliant at Hull FC and Bumbys worst fears are unfounded. So now we surely move on together. Cant we just put one persons unfounded beliefs in the past ? Hes not apologised, but hes more that paid his dues, Bumpys posts are sometimes on the edge, he speaks what he feels and I respect that. I may not always agree. Were all different.
Some say the reminding us all of "past posts", of "a persons past beliefs" and all the tit for tat that then goes with it is a bit tedious. I tend to agree.
Lest we forget, On this occasion Bumby was celebrating our teams win and Radfords part in it. I like that, I feel like Bumby has accepted Radford IS doing a great job.
Good post and kind of where I was coming from to say can we ALL pack it in, on all sides, with the baiting and name calling?
We don't have to get on, or agree, but there's also no need to be rude or personal if you don't agree.
A group of grown adults should be able to do that.

And to follow up on what Chris has said, I will start banning people who insist on bringing up past posts in a blatant attempt to inflame a situation. It's ridiculous. We are all adults and we have all said things we regret. Last Good Friday, with 20 minutes to go, I turned to my lad and said "Enough is enough, he has to go now". I was wrong, and I'm happy to admit that, but we all felt the same way about Radders at some point, however short lived it might have been.
This forum is turning into a children's playground and it's time it stopped. If you don't agree with something then have a reasoned response, do NOT resort to name calling because the end of my tether has been reached.

And that's all I wanted when I stuck up for him from the constant jibes. Glad we can now all move on.

Not once has he held his hands up and said he was wrong or apologised for any of that, and that's why people are bringing it up following the success he said we'd never have under Radford/Pearson. We've even seen in this thread he's resorted to petty insults.
Please state what was untrue and I'll apologise. I won't apologise for having an opinion, I won't apologise for saying stuff that was proven to be true by the club itself and what subsequently happened, I won't apologise for calling the club/AP/Radford/Motu Tony out over certain matters that I explained at the time and was never rebuffed by anyone even when the evidence was there to prove I was right(& i explained it in detail)
At the time I called Radford out regarding his coaching credentials, certain words were taken out of context as a personal attack, I repeated what it was pertaining to and yet this was brought up again and again. I also called him crap, inadequte, poor, unable, not having any ability, poor man management and so on, yup, guilty as charged. I called Radford all these things and more because AT THE TIME he was gash and AP was making decisions that didn't make any sense AT THE TIME which was having a direct effect on the club, our performances and how the fans felt. I've also given praise when it was deserved and recognised when he changed things and said so. I've also tried to enter into discussion about when we have failed to do x and yet you can't have a reasonable discussion because of the way certain posters behave on the forum.
But you think me alone could get Radford sacked because i started a petition/wrote some words, that's really quite funny. Frankly at the time the way he was going he deserved getting the sack, hindsight is a wonderful thing though eh! As a paying supporter of my club man and boy (for 39 years) I think i have a right to put my views to the club/call out the coach when he's doing a mickey poor job, this happens everywhere in all sports. As I have repeated, I put down into words what i beleived was true, from what was happening and what did happen I was not totally unjustfied in saying so, again I'm not going to retract it nor apologise for it, I have no reason to. Did things turn out differently, yes, was I wrong in predicting the future, yes.
Pearson/Radford/coaching team changed what they were doing, changed how we played (massively), got the correct personnel in throughout the squad for the first time since Pearson took charge and the best squad we'd had since the 80s. At the time of writing the petition, that didn't look remotely like it was going to happen.
Am I glad things have changed, of course, do I want things to continue on in a similar vein with further improvements/challenging for trophy's every year, absolutely, this is my club, i want us at the top all the time and playing entertaining rugby, do i regret what i said despite all the abuse/cheap-shots from you and others at every avenue, not for a second. Do I regret calling Radford gap-toothed on the forum, yeah, it was uncalled for but he was a turd of a coach at the time and dragging us backwards rapidly with no idea whatsoever about how to do things on any front. Will I continue to say exactly what i feel about things, how we are playing, what is good and what is not so good, yup, I'll never let certain types dictate what i have to say even though you and others tried your level best to supress open debate/discussion/opinion/chatting about the goings on at the club
I'm glad the mods have finally come out and made it clear regarding such so people can feel free to say what they feel, rightly or wrongly without fear of being hounded off the forum.
Having differences of opinion is what happens on forums, i disagree vehemently with certain things and I'll endeavour to respond, being gauded/baited in the first instance will mean I'll fire back likewise on occasion. As it happens I disagree more and feel just as passionately about things that crop up on a bicycle forum, but we don't get into slagging/baiting/gauding other posters, not anything like the rabid manner that has occured on here. Without the baiting the forum will be a much better place to discuss everything Hull FC/rugby league, just draw a line under it (or not), the choice is for you and others to decide.
