From a neutral point of view, Hull were the better side but game wasn't one-sided, and swung on two decisions, the forward pass try and the correct obstruction call on Leeds which halted growing momentum and conviction. Don't be too hard on your team.

To be fair to McDermott here, when he wanted Webb out, he was forced to pick because he was a big earner, when he wanted Burrow out he was forced to pick. I am not suggesting he doesn't want to pick Ferres, because I don't think that is true, but Ferres is on big bucks, and history tells me because of that he would get picked.
Yeah i can imagine that being the case, after paying a fee for him and giving him a salarly an england international(at the time) would command id expect hetherington is keen for him to play, especially with the risk he took signing him in the first place in regards to how he became available. Some players are proffesional enough to still put the work in even knowing ther place in the team is a lock...Im not sure ferres is one of them after seeing the state he was in earlier on in the season. He did look a bit slimmer yesterday tbf tho

Cheers Logger, but don't worry most of us know that things are never as bad, or as good, as they are painted on this forum

Ferres is obviously not fit and short of match practice. My main complaint regarding ferres is he does not seem up for the challenge. At various times at yesterday's game he looked completely uninterested.

Change the record Tad. We know you don't like Mac but really yesterday was down to some poor performances from the players. Our game plan was working ok for the first 30 minutes as we ran at Kelly and kicked to their dangerous running winger which kept both out of the game.
Hull hit a rich seem of form but everything went for them too, including getting away with a forward pass try and an obstruction on Briscoe that led to a try. Soft tries came from basic errors from Mullally, who let Kelly in and a missed tackle and a poor kick both from Watkins resulting in two further tries. The coach should not be blamed for any of these.
The game was not lost by the coach but by Hull being better on the day and it is disrespectful to Hull to say otherwise. Of course I am disappointed that we under-performed but that is sport, but for you and others to lambast our coach when we are second in the league entering the super 8s shows a lack of fair judgement. Perhaps you should stick with your simple round ball game

Perhaps you should get your head out of his arris & stick to spreadsheet & stats assessments! We can all be sarcastic. Picking a Winger who has not had any confidence all year is the Coaches choice picking an unfit Ferres is the Coaches fault flogging certain pack members all year is the Coaches fault which btw backfired big time when they were blowing after 30 minutes. The issues highlighted yesterday have been apparent for nearly 2yrs & whilst the players should rightly get some flak as should Hetherington for recruitment but once again absolve the Coach of any blame is as bizarre as it is just simply wrong. 3 times this season the team at the bottom of the League have beat us comfortably & our first real test in the CC we produced that. 2nd & a CC semi are positives on the surface & indeed much better than i expected but scratch the surface & the issues we have were always there. So as much as you defend him you lack as much "fair judgement" as anyone.

Oh come on, you can hardly ask someone else to change the record, when you consistently every single time scrape for excuses on defending the coach. Maybe you should change the record.
If poor performances were Once in a blue moon, you might well have a point. But they are not, they are in the majority, so who is supposed to fix that?

Yet another poster with a long history of tirades against our coach most of them ending in a red faced apologies. I would have thought you would have learned by now!
You should be very happy rhino-mark as you expected us to finish 7th. I suppose your logic is being 2nd is down to the players but being out of the cup is down to the coach.
Yesterday in the semi we were outplayed by a very big and determined Hull side who dominated our pack and field position and they deserved to win. Without any major recruitment we have done well this season and have no right to expect to win every match. So when the players are not at their best and are beaten by a better side on the day why do you rush to the blame game?
You and the other usual suspect have become so boring and predictable and really get upset when anyone challenges your hysterical postings. I have never said the coach is blameless but really to pile into him every time we lose or when players do not perform shows judgement based on emotion rather than rugby acumen
