Then you have Delaney, Mullally, Baldwinson, Ormondroyd, Oledzki, Lilley, Smith fighting for places.
My point being it is rare you go a season without many injuries and as sutcliffe can play full back, centre, stand off, loose forward and second row all to a high standard He would probably be in my 17 most weeks. Plus it offers competition for places. In my opinion sutcliffe is no worse than Golding or keinhorst in their respective positions and would push them to improve.
Personally I don't see anything impressive in attack from Golding, and having sutty behind him would push him on. Also, I think we're going to need to address the briscoeissue if he doesn't start to improve soon. And sutty at full back and Golding on the wing could be a good option if half there's no signs of improvement.
I'm basically saying if last year taught us anything, then strength in depth is vital to compete in super league. And sutcliffe is exactly that for us. plus he can kick at goal.
Sutcliffe is still contracted until the end of next season, I wouldn't be surprised to see him play more at 6 next season, but I'd like to see him given a full season in the centres

I would like to keep Sutcliffe for the reasons mentioned above I think the point is would Sutcliffe be happy to sign another contract knowing that he is looked on as a utility player. He is at a stage now where he needs to become a regular in the side imo. I'm not sure which is his best position, fullback or centre possibly.
Woody: Can I pour you a draft, Mr. Peterson?
Norm: A little early, isn't it Woody?
Woody: For a beer?
Norm: No, for stupid questions.

I think I agree with this. But that's up to him to make a position his own. I think if at the end of last year after that good run of games he had at fb he could have got the no. 1 shirt. Instead he said he wanted stand off and this year he's been out played there by moon.

Sutcliffe's a better fullback than Golding IMO but will be his back up I'd imagine. He should be vying with Keinhorst for a place at centre should Moon stay in the halves though. If Moon moves back to centre then he's vying with Lilley & Myler for a half back spot. He'll also, probably, see more game time than JJB, Delaney & Ferres next year...
Cant' believe anyone think's he's not worthy of a place in the squad TBH, although this is Southstander so I shouldn't be that surprised.
