Delaney leads 11 to 8. And other seasons are relevant if the RFL are giving out contracts like these. If he's meant to be helping promote the sport don't you think him actually being out there on the pitch would help a lot rather than highlight somebody who can only manage a third of a season consistently.
The thing that isn't relevant here is you bringing Delaney up as he hasn't nor will he get one of these RFL deals.

I brought Delaney, and Tomkins up actually. And the point was that Saints are not the only top team to stick with injured players, so we can hardly have a go at them. I assume though Tomkins falls under your point? in which case should his contract now be terminated? And by the way, I agree with your point on central funding, I just think rightly or wrongly it is seen as special players are worth the risk.

I thought the whole point of the Lomax discussion here was the help from the RFL which seems strange. Help which neither Wigan get for Tomkins or we get for Delaney so their relevance of them in this i don't really see.
If Saints don't want to, or can't pay what Lomax wants or feels he deserves then he moves on to a club that will pay it. Or that is how it should have been imo, i don't think Lomax warrants special intervention for reasons pointed out on the previous page.
thats a surprise after that blistering try he scored against Warrington though he would have one more year. defo thought mcguire would be the one to go. i guess we are looking at another utility half/hooker or Hallas has impressed at Bradford.

RB's decision by the sound of it. McGuire may yet also go.

Nothing to do with the club sticking with players, it's the RFL involvement that was the issue raised.

It is.
Out of him, McGuire and JJB i would have thought Rob had the most left to give. That said, he will be going out on his terms playing a good level still and you can't knock him for it if true, never like to see great players go on too long.
