It could well just be "paper talk", the article says (now I've read it properly!),that he's one of a number of players FC are talking to.

I can see what you are saying, but think if we signed Paea, Watts would be moved to LF or backrow.
And think Bowden is better off the bench, but would be happy to see any of props start.
Green has played well this year (Was it the Wigan game he had a great game?), but his season has been disrupted by injuries.

I'm another who was a big fan of Paea but think at 32 and his injury record it wouldn't be a great move for us. Then again if LR & MT think he will do a job for us then we have to trust them.
I really enjoy long walks especially when they are taken by people I don't like!

Pretty much what Dave said, Green is solid. Personally I prefer less Bowden out of the two as I think he has more to his game which would benefit us more off the bench imo. To be fair if it was the other way round I still wouldn't kick up a fuss, as I think we have a great set of forwards.
"You don't have to be great to start, but to be great you have to start".
I liked Micky when he was here but would not want him back due to age/injuries. Gaz Ellis is a perfect example of age/injury problems and he is a far better and fitter player than Micky. Personally I would play Manu at loose man and move Griffin to wing. Recruit a young prop/2nd rower as cover. Lots of our younger players will be better next year for their experiences this year.
I wish we'd signed ikahihifo. Awesome player and we should be looking for a similar type of player IMO. I can see paea missing more games than he plays

I'll be honest, and I really hate to say it, because he seems like a really nice guy, but I just dont think Green will ever been anything but average , frustrates the life out of me , hes a beast psychically, but just doesnt punch his wait , hes still young enough to improve , just cant see him ever offering much more than average, and if we did sign micky , think green would struggle to make the 17.
And you can bet your bottom dollar Paea would be on vastly more than Green but wouldn't offer us that much more if anything. good player in the past but not now, really not now. This stunts the development of the likes of Fash and Matongo for me and IF we are to bring back Hadley I'd rather we went with the personnel that we already have than sign an over the hill aussie on big wages!
I don't agree that Green is 'average', he's more than a good solid squad player that deserves his place in the starting XVII most games, you can't expect every single player to be England international level (which is basically what you're wanting from him. he can do long minutes and is more than capable, as others have said, I'd have him on from the start and have others with more impact coming on in the last 15-20 mins.

Fair points and I dont strongly disagree, and im not saying im massively excited of the prospect of signing paea , but if we did go down that route, from a fully fit squad I think green woukd struggle to make the 17 . I dont see how people think green deserves a starting spot despite who we sign , I dont think is form or ability deserve it to be honest , to many average games for me , id much prefer a bowden of late, just needs the consistency . And I agree , you cant have a team of internationals, green a is a good back up , bench player to me. I like to see our strongest front row from the start , and I dont think green will ever be that for us
