For me I'm not sure expansion currently is the way to go. The salary cap has had time to take affect in SL and this season has shown with the likes of ourselves, Cas, Salford & Wakefield are in the top half ahead of the likes of St's, Wigan and lesser extend Warrington. It has been a much more competitive and open league than ever before.
One of the major negatives made by clubs and fans last time we had a larger SL was the lack of the number of quality players around to meet the needs of 14 teams. The other was the drop in income from the SKY money being shared between 14 instead of 12 teams.

I think before expansion is put in place it should be a requirement for each SL club to have their own junior development program/academy system in place and have to agree to invest an agreed amount in to this per season.

Why is there a need to change something that is clearly working in regards 12 teams and go back to 14 teams again which failed to improve the sport last time round.

There's even talk of licensing making a return. The system they ditched not so long ago.
God forbid the RFL should pick a system and stick with it. I wasn't a big fan of the current system at the beginning, but now it's bedded down it seems to have brought more parity to the competition.
The middle 8's are also shaping up to be an intriguing competition.
Now we're looking at changing things yet again. No wonder we struggle to get the sport credibility.
