I've obviously no idea if they read this site, but if they do I'd just like to say thank you to couple of families who were sat behind us.

We were down at front, and an older couple were using some of the most disgusting language I've ever heard at a game, but 2 families stood up and challenged their own supporters to mind what they were saying as we had our young son with us. As a result they we're subjected to some vile abuse themselves.

Hopefully somebody who reads this site knows who they are and can pass on our thanks. It was very much appreciated.

If it was a couple in the early 60's it could have been my parents, they said the Hull fans said that you shouldn't bring kids if you don't want to here any bad language?

They said there were more embarrassed by the Hull fans than the Hull performance.

We've gained a cohort of followers with away games who absolutely cannot handle drinking for a whole afternoon (never mind a whole weekend) but do it anyway. Just hope abuse doesn't turn into punches.

I think most clubs have to be honest, but I don't think this was down to the beer, they just seemed to be those kind of people. Why anyone would use that kind of language at all, never mind in front of kids, is beyond me. Other than that though it was a cracking day, even though I had money on you to beat Saints!

At Cas away last season I was in the Railway End and a woman was constantly using the 'C' word. Now don't get me wrong, anyone who knows me will confirm I have a fisherman's wife mouth on me at times, but that is one word I can't abide and especially around young children. I was told that she can't help it, it just comes out, and that it's a perfectly acceptable level of language!

Same game, we were near a middle aged couple with two children. When I complained I was told they had Tourrettes, a marriage made in heaven.

Agree completely. You do expect it a bit in grounds, but some words, like that one, I actually can't stand hearing even as an adult, never mind wanting kids to hear it.... and sometimes it's just the frequency. Some people swear like their toddler who has just learnt a new interesting word.
