It's amazingly quick but I doubt they'd it him at risk. They should have a few options next week so they may decide to leave it.

Escare (prior to his injury) was going excellent at FB and for me it would, and still could be, a good reason to move Sam back into the halves alongside Williams. This leaves TL without a position in the halves which means he pushes to hooker. At hooker we've got a very good developed hooker in Powell and for me TL is a decent back up from the bench.
This then leaves McIlorum in the cold. As good as he is/has been, I genuinely think his best days are gone and we've better options available to us.
I wonder if the people who think this, think the same about Sam Tomkins. Same scenario really. FWIW if they are happy and can afford it on the cap why not keep both, good to have different options, instead of having a decent back up on the bench, how about a very good back up.

It's a fascinating salary cap juggling game for IL and Rads, accommodating increased deals for the youngsters like Davies and Marshall, and presumably plenty of others to come, alongside keeping our more established starters. The extra marquee rule will help, with both Sam and George only counting for £75k each.
There's also the under-reported change of young players now not counting on the cap if they're on £20k or less. That's hardly mentioned in the press, but will make a massive difference to us.
Great player Gerrard, who with our coaching could kick onto the next level e.g flower.
A Wigan fan aswell would be a dream come true
RICHARDS IS SUPERMAN!!!!

Don't get me wrong, I'm not advocating MM is moved on I can simply see the logic in it and I get the feeling it's a distinct possibility. With regards to Sam, as MM it's been a difficult few seasons with injury. He just hasn't got going but it's entirely feasible and plausible that he moves back to HB leaving Escare as starting FB.
Should that occur that means either TL or MM are left without a position. Likelihood is TL retires into backroom coaching but the other option is to let go of MM. We have Powell and Ganson now coming through the ranks and it's true neither hits as hard or strike as much fear into the opposition like MM but it may well be the way SW goes.

Not heard anything but I put his name forward as a player we may target from the out of contract list last week. I didn't realise he was a Wigan lad. He looks a good prospect but hasn't he been held back by a few injuries?

Yep, missed almost all of last season following knee surgery. Don't know how well he's been playing this year, he didn't play against us in Feb.
