Ten times better yet he can't do 80 minutes a game

If that is the case then why doesn't the coach dictate the same for Powell?, in the very few games that MM has played a full he 80 he has struggled to perform for the full 80, he can't do it and that is why he doesn't, simples, having MM in the side costs us having another prop on the bench, playing Powell alone means we have that extra prop, he's had ten years here which is longer than most, now it's time to go elsewhere and let Powell take us forward

Powell & MM are two totally different types of player, MM is more aggressive in his approach whereas Powell tends to be a passer and more a support player. Wane uses MM & Powell similar to how Saints used to use Cunningham & Roby. Why have another prop on the bench when our backs do all the go forward, as someone said on another thread, wane just uses the forwards to tackle and if that's the case then MM would be one of the first on his team sheet.

I don't see the logic in that. His role there would be purely defensive, as he's not big enough to make strong carries like a forward and he's not really a ball player either. He's also not the most dangerous runner, like a Roby or Clark, so there isn't even a significant running threat. I know that coaches often put a strong defender at 13 and they don't always make a huge number of carries, but usually they'll pick someone who can still make an impact in the limited carries they make. I don't see what McIlorum offers at 13 that someone like Joel Tomkins, Tautai or Gregson couldn't.
While I like Powell to me he is a wasted spot off the bench. He's a hard worker but does not offer much in the way of impact as a forty minute player. Ganson has shown in glimpses already what we are missing from a creative nine. Micky Mac can do the 80..... sure we won a GF against Wire with him doing that and also a magic game with a under strength team, against Leeds spring to mind? I would imagine Micky hits harder than most and if you did spell him someone like Ganson who appears can do a little more with ball in hand would be in time a better option. Powell needs to develop more with the ball I'm always left feeling we are missing something with ball in hand from nine at the moment.
