if we revert back to a classic ball playing loose forward, then sutcliffe is perfect for that role. although cuthbo fits that role pretty well as well. i would not be held to ransom by sutcliffe, but it would be a shame to loose him as he still as great potential as an out n out 13

I fear if he stays with us he will become little more than a jack of all trades master of none. Now is the time, if we are to keep him, to back him in a role. It seems he has played every. Postion so far this year bar the front row. A lot have said for a while on here that he could make an excellent back rower which i agree with, i would hate to see him go to the pies and within a year to 18 months become an international standard back row.

I agree completely and posted something similar on the Catalans match thread. The only thing I'd argue with is that I reckon he could easily be international standard in whatever position he chooses if the club and Sutcliffe work hard.

Not been on this forum long enough to know opinions on Sutty but noticed on FB he has come in for a lot of unfair criticism. I agree with your comment that he has potential to be international standard. If you go back to 2015 he was already earmarked as Kev's replacement for the following season. ..or that was what I read. When Kev got injured ,Sutty's partnership with Mags looked very promising . When Kev came back from injury he kept him out of squad which is no mean fete ..then as I recall Mac kept swapping them over until he did possibly one of his best decisions by playing them both..allowing Kev to mentor Sutty during the match ..as well as been guided by Mags. That for me is how it should be with youngsters best way for them to learn n bed them into a squad. Unfortunately then Sutty got badly injured but I remember watching videos of his rehabilitation ..he was putting in lot of hard graft. When he returned he then had to compete with Lilley not helped by constant changes of who should be in halves..then when Golding got injured put as FB where gave good account of himself ...now Moon has gone in halves ..which I assume is where he will be once Keinhorst etc return from injury...leaving Sutty as a utility sub ? I like Mac but injuries aside , he still is not always consistent with selection or even who is on kicking duties...will they continue with Kallum ? I think he does put in the work but if club don't show persistence either would not be surprised if Sutty decides to take offer from another club..
