He's our James Milner. Always get at least a 7/10 whenever, and wherever he plays. So versatile, committed and professional. To fill in for for a man of steel and pick up the gauntlet as well as he has, out of position, speaks volumes.

I think in the last couple of games that the whole team has started to come to terms with losing houghton, washbrook in particular. I expect he'll get a 12 month contract extension in the near future

He's most definitely improved, yes he can cover DH and do a shift but honestly was not impressed with most of what he offered last year and I for one think Hadley could do his role better, certainly going forward as a utility type forward with good hands which Hadley has.

However, as I said he has improved and the responsibility put upon him rather than being a more bit part player has probably meant he's more able to get into games.
What happens when Houghton is fit again, do we still go with him off the bench or do we encourage Litten to get more game time?
if we have a bench of Bowden, Litten/Washbrook, Thompson and Fash, it looks a little light but frankly on harder pitches I'm not averse to having more mobile forwards on the bench.

Why we have a hooker on the bench when Houghton plays 80 minutes, matbevin a year or two when Litten is ready and Houghton is older, but he is only 17 and would be waste of a bench spot,

Washbrook would be on my bench every week and should get a 12 month deal
