Just watching the Leeds v Hudds game. There have been two 40/20's and the game has restarted with a tap rather them a scrum. I am aware the rule on this changed for this season.

On Sunday, Kelly kick d a 40/20 in the second half, a Cas player (can't recall which) kicked the ball away, basically preventing a quick tap (should have been yellow carded for that). Hicks restarted the game with a scrum. Is there a reason why this was the case? Is there a choice of tap or scrum or is this another example of Hicks getting it wrong?

I dont think it was a genuine 40/20. I think Hardacre maybe touched it but failed to keep it in.

Been thinking about this and would be interested to see it again. If Hardakers foot was on the line when he first touches the ball, then he is in effect already in touch? A little like from a kick off, the catcher being dead in goal with a foot over the dead ball line?

If you knock the ball away when it's a tap restart to other team you should be binned but if scrum is next restart then no.
