Fages second was an absolute belter. Needs to be seen on youtube.
Second half was a case of Saints going through the motions against a Hudds team offering nothing.
The key was Saints subbed Wilkin and Tommy Lee. With these players off, Hudds saw their chance, they got a bit of field position and exploited a couple of errors from Saints players to score trys.
Our attack was again woefully one sided, We are dangerous down the left, but the right side may as well not exist.
Its not Morgans fault or Makinson, the ball just isnt getting to them. Whether its LMS or Peyroux both players step inside and kill any right side shift play. They are clearly not right sided players.
For me LMS is at his best through the middle as a 3rd prop bursting onto the ball against a retreating defence. His speed, size and mobility can then cause big problems. I would move Wilkin out to the right second row as this should allow the ball to get to the centres on the right.
Failing that we need to look for a genuine right sided back rower either from the youth setup or from elsewhere
Peyroux sadly for him just is struggling to cut the mustard.
For once I agree with some things you say. We 100% went worse when Wilkin went off. We certainly lacked all direction and leadership when he went off.
LMS does come inside to much. It's stopping any ball getting to Morgan. He's killing us on that side with his poor lines he runs and I agree, we have to play him 13 as a 3rd prop or off the bench. We have no balance on the right edge and imo Wilkin would be better there.
I'm in shock we didn't go for drop goal on that last set. We've brought Matty Smith in for to be dropping goals and for the first time in the game we tried to play expansive rugby when a drop goal wouid win it.
