There are lots of developments happening behind the scenes regards the stadium, whether IL will buy it I dont know but the Widnes debacle seems to have jolted him into looking at alternative arrangements

Any real substance in this or is it just 'pub talk'.
This came up a few years ago and Whelan dismissed this out of hand.

There is something IL has been looking to do for while by moving 'everything' to one place. I've been told IL has been looking to sell Orrell and Central Park and that he has actually bought a new location to place all Wigans facilitates into one location. Look at the reserves if you're dying to know...All speculation of course, but i'm pretty confident in my source. However, as much as we'd all like it we have to forget the stadium move, it wont happen for a long time unless something drastic happens. Wigan don't have the money to do it just like Athletic don't have the money to survive in that stadium without us.

Sure, but as you say we need to forget the stadium move idea, which effectively means moving the other two closer to the DW/Robin Park area. Plenty of spare (or potentially spare) land around there, in the triangle between Stadium Way and Scot Lane.

My point being look where the reserves played against St Helens the other week... Robin Park Arena. IL has apparently bought it.
