Yes it was a friendly, yes the result is irrelevant to Wane & many Wigan fans, but not all Wigan fans. Do some Wigan fans feel just a little cheated by the relative lack of 1st team involvement in the match & a complete mis match 2nd half ? Or is that kind of slaughtering fun for you ?
Now that the pleasantries are out of the way, Iceland have been trying to contact you. Could you please return the shopping trolley from your front yard in Platt Waz as it is NOT YOUR PRAM.
Also could Wigan Warriors RLFC please advise Derek of when they are likely to need to 'borrow' our nice new Rugby League stadium when your football stadium is unavailable as we have a Real Big Club to consider in Manchester United.
Ta cock.
Manchester United 'reserves'.
Our stadium owners (and my football side) took the manager of the footy team you need to consider so it's hardly Barcelona's first team you're dealing with is it?!
You best hope our stadium owners remain civil or the council may hand your stadium over to the Boroughs big club
I, along with many other Wigan fans i would imagine, have already forgotten about this fixture... Can't believe it's still being chewed over..

aboveusonlypie... If you don't bother to go to the game when you live in the locality then you are not really a fan and therefore your views are invalid. It's simple.

Odd that you forget this match , yet remember last year's GF maybe because of Sundays result and score.

I've forgotten about it, as it had very little relevance to the season ahead. It may have some bearing on future seasons, when many of your first team will have retired...
And why would we not enjoy remembering a GF win!! I'm sure many Leigh fans hated it in equal measure, thats how inferiority and bitterness can affect people...

One day we might just acknowledge Leigh enough to send a team who are all old enough to vote.
I suppose on the day you send this team, they MAY give us a game, because for the past 3 years Leigh have won with ease,it could have been 70 v 10 on Sunday, and you did have 10 players from the first team squad. As for acknowledging Leigh,if Wigan don't rate us , why are Wigan referring to us as a Gold team when charging for Hospitality?Maybe it's because of the 4 or 5 thousand Leythers we will bring.

Hate Wigan success? Not me, when you beat Warrington 3 seasons ago,I was sat in the Trafford Suite ,on the same table as Gary Connolly, Henderson Gill, and Andy Gregory, 80% of my family are Wiganers,I never feel inferior, I do missionary work in Wigan , showing Wiganers how to use a knife and fork.
