HOME NEWS HULL FC SCOOP ANOTHER PRIZE AT SL CLUB AWARDS
CLUB NEWS SATURDAY, 19 NOVEMBER 2016
Hull FC were celebrating again last night after claiming yet another award this year, with the club’s marketing department this time recognised for their efforts.
The Black and Whites media and marketing team were rewarded for their extensive web and social media coverage with the ‘Best Use of Digital and Social Media Award’, as selected by an independent panel of industry experts.
The club were praised for achieving their target of 150,000 social media users in 2016, as well as their improvements in website traffic with over five million visits to the club’s web platforms so far this year.
The club’s free Hull FC Live commentary service has also earned almost 100,000 listens, plus a host of engaging video content from an action packed season that saw the team lift the Challenge Cup and get to within 80-minutes of the Super League Grand Final.
Campaigns that have helped drive ticketing, membership and retail promotions also made up the award nomination, including the club’s popular #V4Victory social media coverage from last year’s shirt launch which was pictured on the screen at the event.
Hull FC’s Marketing & Communications Director, James Clark, collected the award on behalf of the club last night.
He said: “It’s fantastic for the club to earn further acknowledgement for what has been a outstanding year for us on and off the field and it is well deserved recognition for those that work extremely hard behind the scenes, so this is a moment for them.
“Our digital output is extremely important to us and it has been great to achieve our targets this year. Like most things at the club, it is only possible with the buy-in from our supporters who have been brilliant and of course the players and coaches.

He continued, “We continue to make significant strides off the field and it’s an exciting time to be around the club. We’ve posted improved attendances, record retail figures and looking at the current numbers it seems our new shirts and memberships are some of the most popular we’ve ever had.”
Hull FC were also nominated for a PR Award on the night, for their Cobus Community Champions project which helps disadvantage people in Hull, whilst Leeds Rhinos, Widnes Vikings, Wigan Warriors and Wakefield Wildcats were amongst the other winners.
The new annual awards are intended to recognise the fantastic work that goes on behind the scenes at the various clubs in Super League.
The Airlie Birds progress off the field alongside a memorable year on it has already been highlighted this year when they were awarded the coveted Super League Club of the Year Award.
