Was poor. Didn't last year was top for ages. Won a cup and our none pivot 13 was 2nd in the MOS
I'll go with the idea when abdull back as I think he could be a mix of modern 13 with the skills to add old school 13 style play on occasion. But as for an out and out pivot purely for the sake of it then no imo
Won in 2005 with a pivot at 13.....if we wanted a ball playing pivot at 1 then we should have kept Rankin,Shauls speed and support is great but he doesn't link well...imo.As for a ball playing 13,I'm old school and like a ball playing 13

Me too. I'm willing for Abdull to turn into the next Jason Smith but I'd settle for the next Paul Cooke.

I honestly can't believe that people are thinking of dropping Shaul, was excellent for 75% of the season and form dropped off when the rest of the team did, deserves to start the season at FB, if he doesn't produce then, then it opens the chance for Connor etc

All about opinions Dave..
For mine...
The modern day fullback, needs to be an extra pivot, this is the area where Shaul is lacking , IF he improved in this facet of his play, he would be in for international reckoning...

Agree with you there Dave Shaul has improved parts of his game every season. No reason for even thinking of replacing him with Connor

I have this vague memory of Shaul scoring the winning try at Wembley. Does anyone else remember that? When Shaul scored the winning try at Wembley? The try that won us the cup? At Wembley?
