I think that'll be plan A. But Abdull is still young, inexperienced and needs to get/keep in trim. If he's struggling, Blair and Addy can cover, as we've got a good number of backrowers. As well as Marsh - though I think shifting him to fullback makes sense.
For Abdull and Hull, the Championship is probably the best place for him at this point in his development. Better than knocking around the under-23s, certainly. If you have signed him beyond 2018, I'd assume it'd be with an option in the club's favour.
We hopefully get a short-term fix, which is what we need. Alongside Ellis, he should go well in in the Championship.

Good question on HullKRfans about what will happen with Ellis and Abdull if Hudds and/or Hull ended up in the middle 8s.
With Ellis, I'm not sure he'll currently be planning on a return to Hudds, but the contract is there for him to fall back on. Abdull does presumably see his future at Hull.
I know there's often the possibility of loan players damaging the interests of the parent club in football, but relegation doesn't typically void all contracts. And they still often have clauses in deals preventing it happening.
Hopefully it has been discussed and clearly agreed in advance. My gut feeling is that they shouldn't play - not fair on the players.

i would imagine everything would point to rovers signing ellis on a permanent for the 2018 season if he helps get them promoted

A running half with X Factor skills. Marvellous. If we can get him on the pitch so much the better! Welcome to the City's only SL club young man. Interesting times ahead.
