Is this the reason people hate for him? Jason smith did wrong, do we hate him, we all have family members/mates who have done wrong, do we hate them?

emotional when playing us, looked to me he just smirked and laughed at the fc fans, I don't hate him at all I have never met him I just don't want to see him back at our club if they do take him back im not going to protest or not go to games just would prefer our club to look at more loyal players like Yemo and such like for jobs within the club

Maybe he thought the section of fans was the ones who smashed his grans Windows & smashed his uncles Range Rover sport, or wished his child to get cancer, I don't think he was professional enough to override heckling, chants from fans, but I know everything that went on was in his head at the time, I called him a fat bar-steward when he was woohooing, but come end of the game, it was forgot about.

Personally? Nah, dont hate him. I dont really like him on as a person, but hey ho.
In my opinion, anyone who has admitted to half of the things he has done, regardless of the apologies years after, are a very easy person to dislike, or 'hate' if you will.
The amount of people who hate him is probably very small, most people just dont like him, but all seem to get banded into the frothing at the mouth pitchfork posse.

Getting the book for Christmas so need to read it before i make my mind up .

Let he who is with out sin cast the first stone as they say

Well you may throw your rock and hide your hand
Workin' in the dark against your fellow man
But as sure as God made black and white
What's down in the dark will be brought to the light

don't agree with that sort of behaviour no one deservers that, but there is a way of doing things unfortunately he was given bad advise and I'm sure he regrets it now but he loved and milked it the time end of the matter for me and him at hull fc I hope

He insists that he never wanted to leave. He also states that he never left for money. Reading the book I would dispute both statements.

He went for the money pure and simple. He knew exactly what he was doing. He had 18 months of a 36 month unsigned contract to run. He was on £75k a year with us.
He claims that he would have earned £200k tax free from a testimonial year. On what basis he makes this claim is not apparent.
But if he had got all that then he would have had a further £310k in his pocket.
He went to Rovers for £110k per year for 42 months. He also got £80k in his pocket for signing for them. Hudgell also said he would pay his legal fees. Now do the maths. I would also like to know what he needed legal fees paying for. If the move was all above board then legal expenses wouldn't be required.

Now you can all make up your mind on that. But as per his book these are the facts. Naturally we haven't got Hull FC's side of the matter and I doubt we ever will. I know which way I am swaying on this matter.

Also in the book he tells about how the build up to the 2006 Grand Final was a farce. The reason being money. I believe this was not fully supported by the squad and certainly not by the coaching staff. Again make up your own mind. It was our biggest game of the season and possibly the biggest game in many players careers. What was he most concerned with?

Cooke wasted his talent. Much the same as my heroes from the 80s he was more interested in beer. Cut that out and he would potentially have made it internationally. He certainly wouldn't have had the brushes with the law. He possibly wouldn't have treated women so badly.

The club stood by him through all that cra9. The club gave him his chance. Yes the whole testimonial thing was possibly handled badly. Certainly his opinion of Heatherington is probably exactly the same as many of us. But his attempts to paint himself as some kind of victim in it all do not wash with me.

I will forever remember his try in Cardiff.
I will forever remember is part in the semi against Saints.
I will forever remember his role in 2006. But I won't forgive him his part in 2007 fiasco.

The club failed to replace him that's a fact. I will also add there a several players I'd claim were the biggest influences for us in the SL era. Smith, Swain, Horne and half of this years squad, before him.
But he was totally at fault for how 2007 ended. Big man faced his team mates and his bosses to say good bye. But he let them all down imho (but it wasn't for money  )

As for other parts of the book. He reads a game brilliantly (or so he says). His analysis of plays is worth reading (Is it in retrospect or did he actually know all that while playing) . He will be a good coach. Would I have him in any leading role at Hull FC? I don't know. Certainly not head coach as things stand.

I wish him well. I am glad he has stopped drinking heavily and beating women. The world is a better place for that. But I don't buy his story.

40 years of waiting ended on 27th August 2016. The day my dreams became reality. The joy was greater thanks to the pain of many years of waiting.

I will have a pint 'Paul Cooke'. Period

Your prerogative to fund his next 'handy fists' venture.

There's NO EXCUSES. Scumbag.

Before in read his book I thought he was a lover. Now it's obvious at one stage in his life he certainly was. But did he screw hull FC ? No he didn't. We in the guise of Heterington and Rule screwed him. What a pair of muppets. They put FC back Fuve years or so. Took the cash abs off they went. Ruke shouldn't be allowed anywhere near our sport having read this. I note no ones sued Cooke over what he said so we can draw our own conclusions about who tells the truth.
It seems he's exorcised hid ghosts and totally turned his life around. Well done to him That would not have been easy.it seems in the rugby world he us well respected as an up and coming coach.
Can I forgive him for going to the dark side? Do I now understand why he did it? Yes. Should we try and get him to join FC coaching staff? I think so. He's been ere and done it all. He's obviously a deep thinker about the game. In some ways it's a pity it didn't come off when Pearson set it all in motion. By now it would all be water under the bridge and we'd have all moved on
One thing the book clearly shows is all the keyboard know alls knew fookall
