The sort of player our team needs. Think we may have been worked out by teams next year. A bit of unpredictability will do us no harm, and I'm sure Radders won't put up with any nonsense. Also, I'm sure Mini would have been consulted about the potential signing.
I'm just off to put ten pounds on him being 2017 Man of Steel
He can be devastating on his day & would complement Sneyd in the Halves well ,It's all down to attitude and his willingness to knuckle down and sort himself out .
Definitely the type of player we need but not the actual player we need IMO. Ignoring the fact he's been sacked off from 3 clubs, the fact he didn't keep himself in shape during last off season, the fact he came back late from compassionate leave in no fit state to train/play, ignoring the fact he blows hot an cold and his odd moments of brilliance are far outweighed by many more of bang avergaeness, he's injury prone as hell. I'd rather we signed justin carney, who is equally injury prone but a much better player with a seemingly better attitude.
I'd be amazed if kelly ever changed from what he's been so far in his career

Don't disagree with any of your concerns. However there appears to be a huge shortage of decent halfbacks in SL - just can't attract the best overseas ones due to wage demands and clubs seem largely incapable of producing their own, evidenced by the fact Wigan are looking at Kelly also. Brough may hae been a target but much older and requiring a fee. Blake Green got a gig in NRL. Market's very flat unfortunately. Potentially picking up Kelly on much reduced salary and conditional contract could be as good as we could realistically get.

It's like a saturday night from my youth. I could take the ugly bird home and regret it in the morning or I could go home by myself and still feel clean the next day. Unfortunately I had no will power and always chose the ugly bird but deffo regretted it every time
Sometimes it's better to leave the scrapings from the bottom of the barrel where they've settled
We don't appear to have anything to lose given we aren't losing a half back as far as we are aware.
If we sign Kelly and he stays fit and behaves himself then we have a new dimension to our offence. If he is a crock and/or has a disciplinary problem we can go back to Carlos/Sneyd at half back who got us to the top four and won us the Challenge Cup - with the added back up of Jake Connor.
I cannot imagine we have not looked at this from all angles, I have faith in radders and company to have done there homework , IF he can play like he did for rovers in 2015 he will rip it up, of course its a gamble but one well worth taking imo
once a black and white always a black and white COYH

Just to confirm the above, HDM article stating the rumours were a load of rubbish.
Just to add, I've also heard Albert Kelly mentioned in the discussion of new signings by the same contact as above.
A 12 month deal on a contract that favours us, both financially AND conditionally, would be a fantastic move. If it works, extend it (with the same conditions) and then we've got a excellent asset who will have picked up his game on (and off) the field to fit in with out culture.
Worst case scenario - we've got an extra 12 months (and a significant wedge on the cap) to then find a 6 if Kelly doesn't work out.
Very clever move by Pearson/Tony/Radford if it is happening.
