i was told last week from a reliable source. I am told Morley & Carvell are going & the under 19s & academy were being scrapped, I was also told that there was more cuts. I had posted last week without using names, however it does appear true.
I believe Morley to be offered another non related coaching role, no smoke without fire!

If true, it's a massive mistake.

The academy should have been a priority years ago, before MK came around. We'd be producing decent talent every year and it would be paying for itself. Instead, we never bothered. Impressive that we have managed to produce so many decent youngsters tbh. Imagine what we would be producing if we'd have got this right ten years ago?

MK should have sorted this as his first project instead of buying-in expensive bell-ends.

To scrap it now is madness, and leaves us off worse financially in the long run. You don't produce youngsters you don't get the SC discounts. Current operational rules say you need a percentage of home grown youngsters in your squad, and we'll be left buying-in expensive signings or forking-out for other clubs youngsters.

Makes no sense.

Seems a bit stupid to scrap the academy it can't cost that much surely it's funny that Sheens is now with us and he's saying the youth is the main priority

I've seen the figure of 250k thrown around with regards to Academy cost, with a small hand-out of 50k from the RFL.

I don't know how true these figures are so may be well off the mark.

I thought it was a requisite of the RFL that to be in super league you had to have a academy/youth set up. it is just plain madness
