He hasn't signed for Toronto for the rest of his career and is unlikely to be first choice pivot at Hull just yet so wouldn't rule out him coming back when he's more SL-ready.

Yeh agree , but dont think we would be his first and only choice if things work out well for him. You sound a little arrogant if you think we can just dump young kids then sign them when its good for us, doesnt always work like that

That's not what I said at all. I just said it's a possibility he isn't lost to us for the rest of his career.

Tinkerman seems to have taken a liking to you this week. What's going on there then?
Mrs Barista wrote:Up until this year he's been the most influential player in the city since the SL era. However he's now been eclipsed in folklore terms by Houghton IMO, who has not only also collected Man of Steel but is pure and genuine humility and selfless, relentless effort, and has thoroughly earned a rich testimonial. Cooke gave us some fabulous moments but does seem to enjoy being queen of his own soap opera.

Or they have nothing else going on but to sit at home making up stories.

Hull will give us a tough game but the key is to silence their fans in the Threepenny Stand. We have to do this because if we do'nt they will get behind their side and lift them in a way you've never seen, heard or witnessed before.

Wind your neck in. It's a fan forum. Are we now only suppose to talk about what is officially announced?
I'm just going off what I've been told, but as I say, nothing solid. Although it does tally with his style of play in the later part of the season imo.
Good to hear that others believe different. It would be a shame to lose him. He showed at the start of the season that on form he can be devastating player.

I think Irregular Hoops has a point, I believe we could get Kelly to do the right things within the right environment. He's not my first choice, but that doesn't rule him out, I just don't think Radders or Pearson will suffer fools.
Any contract can be heavily loaded in our favour.
As an example, I was speaking with a director of the Giants back at Millenium Magic in Cardiff a few years ago. A player we all know and love had gone there with a track record of various misdemeanours. Giants were well aware of course, they didn't go into the "arrangement" blind at all, and the conditions of conformity were stringent beyond belief really. But the player was in last chance saloon and signed up.
The Hudds man said they kept up the tight checks on their player religiously, with no slippage permitted. He said the player had been as "good as gold" and was starting to play some great stuff, with the personal wellness and fitness regime being at the right professional level. He had to do the right thing or he was OUT.
That carried on really up to this season with only sporadic problems last seasons. Granted, maybe the regime of checks and measures has relaxed somewhat as twililight time approaches.
But it shows that since that conversation some 7 ? years ago, with the right measures in place, any club can get contractual protection and full bang for their buck.
