Well here we are. The time has come. Excited? Dead right. Nervous? That goes without saying. It started for me in 1976 when a work colleague took me to watch my first game of league and boy I was hooked straight away. I've seen a lot(not as much as some) and the highs and lows as an FC supporter have been unbelievable. We nearly disappeared into oblivion until Richardson turned up. We rise up from the ashes and now here we are. This is a different group to all who went before. For me they are hewn from a very different rock. As of now they are legend . They've won a cup and got rid of that song. But fir me this is much more. They now have the chance to win the competition and show that they are the best team in the league this season. I know a lot don't rate the LLS but I do. This shield is given to the best the top of the tree. The grand final is what it is a money making show so they can pay muppets to spout off on TV. Next Friday should be massive. The stadium needs to rock. We need to be ready to give it all. I can't wait to see my team transform from legend to immortal because that's what it means to me. Go give it to them boys. Go and get it won.............become immortal Come on you uuuullllllaaaaa Have I peaked too early!

I get the impression I am a lot younger than some people on here. I have only known this great team in the super league era and until this year the only real moment of glory I have experienced was 2005.
I buy a season ticket and I sit in the stands every game hoping perhaps for a decent cup run, a play-off appearance perhaps. Until this year I never truly realised just what it felt like to see my team at the top. The excitement, nerves, euphoria, terror has slowly killed me over the year and I'm not sure whether I will survive this next game but I do know that I will see something great.
Friends have said to me in the past that they will never understand why I am so fanatical about a sports team. Every morning I wake up and the first thing I do is check league websites for news and gossip and whatever. I spend almost every waking second thinking about our great game, reading about it, listening to commentries, watching games. Screaming, cheering, singing, swearing at refs (I am the nutter in the south-west corner! ).
I say to my friends and those people that don't understand why us fans are fanatics: Go to one Hull FC game and you will be just as hooked as all of us.

All very surreal, a season beyond my wildest dreams. The fact that we're going into the last round with the chance of a treble and the Challenge Cup safely in the trophy cabinet already for me just means we've got an icing on the cake end of season whatever happens. If we win anything else that would be the cherry on the icing.
Massive appreciation to Pearson, Tony and Radford and his backroom team. The stability in backroom regime, restructuring of the playing roster to upgrade quality and depth concurrently and support of the U23s concept has been outstanding. What a fabulous campaign it's been. To be on the brink of further honours is unbelievable.

Absolutely right. A brilliant example of building from the bottom up and putting in strong foundations.

Just been giving my eight & ten year olds a run down on the importance of this game - win and we win the league + a home tie in the GF semis, win that and were going to Old Trafford!!!!!
Early 80's for me. I would happily take a semi final defeat for the shield. Some might not rate it but the chance to win 2 out of 3 trophys is worth it. Saying that if we beat wire I will be greedy and want the g/final as well. The cup win made them legendsl. For me a shield win makes them the greatest in my life time
