Allowing any potential businesspersons to purchase that strip of desireable land bang in the city would be a hugely bad thing in my opinion. I really can't see any good ending to it unless these people are philanthropists like Allam...oh wait!! These people are there to make money and nothing else, they aren't interested in the city or its people they are just targets to extract cash from. The council really have to gain control back of the stadium but clearly they have no fight for that. Giving the stadium/land away for peanuts would make the fallout from a nuclear device look like a stone tossed in a pond by comparison as the council are inept beyond description. I just hope someone has the gumption to do the right thing.

Not sure I 100% agree.
The council could sell the land and the stadium. There could be covenants attached to the sale. Any development would need to go through a planning permission process, which the council would dictate.
The site has no major commercial value. It's used as a car park, a site for a car boot sale and a travelling fair for one week a year. Access isn't great and transport links are average. If someone wants to buy and invest in the site then good luck to them. It's no different to any other site in the city

Except it's the land the stadium and all that surrounds it and not just the fairground land. Covenents might work, then again it took the council a load opf time, effort and money just to force the allam's to do one small thing and even then not completely comply. Covenents these days arent worth the paper they are written on.

I think it depends what any redevelopment plans would comprise. IMO Hull already suffers from overcapacity in the centre from a retail perspective hence empty units across Whitefriargate, Princes Quay, Prospect Centre and so on. So creating more retail capacity of the same stuff just creates more of an issue for the centre and is, as far as I know, contrary to general planning policy which backs away from out of centre/edge of centre consents. Would be interested in what any proposals would be for.

To be honest that would be the best outcome for Hull City, The City itself and also our own club. Just can't see the Allams seeing past the fact it is Adam Pearson and can't see them going ahead.
Still not convinced they will sell anyway
I really enjoy long walks especially when they are taken by people I don't like!
