i did and naughton is a fullback/winger, apart from collecting the ball at dummy half coming off our line i dont see anything to suggest he could play at 9

When you consider many rate him as a winger yet he had to ask Radford to give him a chance on the wing so he could get some game time so the coaches dont always see whats in front of them. Fonua came as a wing yet cemented himself at right centre Tuimavave came as a centre and now is the first choice 6 see the point
As been pointed out Tuimavave was a 6 from schoolboy on. Did you know Fonua played centre and 6 for his country as well. Doncaster gave Naughton a run at scrum -half but soon dropped the idea suggesting lack of ball skills

Does anyone think taylor could play scrum half? He has 2 arms, 2 legs and a head which are essential for playing scrum half. Seems to have many of the attributes

Sorry, I know a couple of the coaching staff currently at Doncaster and one former member of the coaching staff and that simply isn't true.

Throughout his career? You mean the dozen or so games he played in the NRL, how many were at 6 in fact? He might think he's a six but he bloody well isn't. He's not even remotely half as good as Richard Horne, in fact I'd say at the start of the season pryce was performing better than Carlos has in any game he's started at 6.
I'm open to suggestions regarding players and their positions, Naughton will never be a 9, certainly not at this club. His tackling technique isn't good enough for starters and then there's the matter of him easily getting run over. Out and out scoot merchant at the expense of defensive frailty, no thanks.

Naughton is 21, give us all break. Let's judge the lad next season when he gets a run in the team. Seriously I've heard all this in the past with Shaul, now we're doing it with Naughton. I hope the lad doesn't read these posts. Give me strength !

I'm not doing him down, I'm saying he does not fit the criteria for a good no.9, if you can't see that his tackling technique is average at best and that he has being run over even by opposing wingers/centres never mind forwards then that's a shortcoming you'll need to address. At 21 if you have mickey poor technique and are small that isn't something you can address overnight, not by a long chalk. He also doesn't fit into the mould that Radford appears to strictly want in a no.9 otherwise we might still have James Cunningham on the books. I've no problem with Naughton having a run at the wingers role, I've no problem giving him a go at full back or even stand-off, as a 9, I really absolutely cannot see him being suited due to what I mentioned previously.
