The MOS is awarded prior to the GF if I remember rightly so houghton and ellis must be in the box seat

Could both end up missing out IMO if both make final shortlist - similar qualities and contribution from the same team could split the vote. Absolutely incredible that both could be in with a shout - who would have predicted that in February?

Not sure what the format is but saw Paul Sculthorpe declare Houghton the winner on Twitter at the weekend.

I believe the voting in done in two stages - every Super League player is balloted and the final decision is made by a specially selected panel including a former MoS, a current player and representatives from the broadcast and print media.

The shortlist of three will be unveiled in late September with the winner usually announced the Monday before the Grand Final.

It could be a big night for Hull. As well as there being a good chance of the Man of Steel coming from Hull, Marc Sneyd is well placed to be top points scorer, Danny Houghton is likely to be 'Hit Man' for the fourth time in six years, Radford looks a good bet for Coach of the Year and we could take the Club of the Year award too.
